I admire the leadership qualities that Draymond Green has. Green is not a top power forward in the NBA, nor is he a first or second option on the Warriors. What Draymond is really good at is having amazing basketball IQ and the ability to lead his teammates, especially this year. This video is just one example, but throughout the year, Green has been coaching and mentoring rookie James Wiseman. It amazes me how he is dedicated to teach young players like Wiseman. After the clip, the commentators go into detail about how great of a leader Draymond is. He may not be the best, but he has been on the Warriors for this reason. The Warriors need his leadership to be successful.

I choose Kim Mulkey as a good leader and a good manger. She is such a strong woman, especially during this Covid-season. I love how nonchalant and blunt she is when she’s giving interviews, then she’s very emotional during the games. She manages her team well and makes sure she gives them their credit. She shows me that I can be a strong leader and teach other women to be strong too.

I picked LeBron James because he shows many different characteristics of being a great leader. He has determination and is a man of his word. He can be adaptive with his way of leading different teachers and with different teams. He is a serious man but knows when to have fun. His motivations has a positive effect on everyone. From children to colleagues, he is a great leader.

I chose Luke Kuechly because he’s the ultimate leader, he makes everyone else around him better and understands his responsibility as a leader. He makes the plays but also understands them too. He watches film for at least 2-3 hours a day after practice and whenever he can so he knows his opponents every move and game plan. He knows 40% of his opponents offense play book just by studying film. He is not only a leader on the field but also off the field and that’s what I admire about him is that he can be a good man away from football. Most NFL players and professional athletes are cocky but not Luke, he is a very influential and good role model for the kids and our youth, That’s the reason I chose this video because Luke spent time with Marcus’s son and that say a lot about how much he cares about people and I feel like that makes a great leader. When Luke retired from the Panthers, he got the upmost respect from across the league to players that never even played with him because they knew what type of leader and man he was. It took a lot to make that type of decision but he made it and nobody questioned him, that’s how you know his leadership had meaning to it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJK8elFQEEU

I choose this video of Pat Summitt because she is was on of the first females to have a strong and inspirational coaching career. Pat Summitt was a women’s college basketball head coach who accrued 1,098 career wins, the third most in women’s basketball history. She served as the head coach of the University of Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team from 1974 to 2012. In this video, it is easy to tell how much respect she has earned from her athletes as well as how much respect she demands from her team. It is also very noticable how knowledgeable she is about the sport of basketball and how much time and dedication she has put into her sport as well as her leadership skills. During the half-time, Coach Summitt lights a fire in her athletes by discussion what they are doing, pointing out what they need to fix, and then motivating them to do better and to get the job done. Coach Summitt also asks for input from her assistant coaches as well as her own players because she understands it’s a team effort to win the game.

I chose Nick Saban, he is one of the most purest and truest leaders there are, lots of positive leadership in role, one thing that makes him very credible is his resume.
Nick Sabans resume is what it is because he gets his player to trust him and trust his program, the proper leadership is always being put to use, in the video it shows what kind of vibe the players have with him as the head coach, https://youtu.be/bsPP4VpQRtg

  • Jesus Baquero

I choose Andy Reid. I believe that he is one of the great Head coaches. He is not only respected by his team, his staff, but also the community around him. This can be seen more so now as the chief’s head coach, and the same in Philly. His demeanor is soft and caring but rules with an iron fist. His coach as elevated 2 NFL teams for just ok teams to Super Bowl Champs.

  • Montrell Wilson

I chose to pick Kobe “Bean” Bryant. I believe he is one of the most inspirational, dedicated, genuine and loving person who have walked this earth by far. His work ethic and his passionate for the game he love was remarkable and he took it very personal with anybody he was affiliated with and with anybody that was in his corner. He didn’t want to be known as just one of the best basketball players in the world, he wanted to make a difference in the world by showing you and giving advice on how to never give up on your dreams and goal and work ethic is the ultimate goal at the end of the day. He’s always been the person to outwork his opponent and wasn’t scared of any competition from anyone because he put in the work behind closed doors.

I chose Kobe Bryant because to me he is the ultimate example of a great leader. I loved this clip because he talks about embracing the uncomfortable confrontation of leading men. He compared it to being at dinner with somebody who has something in their teeth. He says ” Would you rather sit in front of someone who is too scared to say something or someone who will tell you that you have something in your teeth.” I thought this was a perfect metaphor for leadership, because sometimes it is uncomfortable to correct someone but at the end of the day a leader is someone who wants to get the best out of everybody around them and nothing else is more important. After watching this video I will be a lot more comfortable embracing the slight moment of tension needed to correct a teammate.
