The reason I chose this clip because two years ago I took a yoga class at Stan during the summer. And my instructor asked us what does it mean to show gratitude?. Not knowing what it really meant, I knew it had to do with being happy. However that was just the surface of gratitude. I learned that gratitude is understanding that everything takes time and has a purpose. But be happy in that moment whether it be a accomplishment or meeting a complete stranger or your loved. Showing that positive affirmation in someone’s life really does impact them. For me this video brings me reassurace in my life because I’ve been through so many trials this year, however I was still showing gratitude although my life was in shambles. I was thankful for being here. Hopefully many of you will check out this ted talk!. Thank you -Ambara MaGee.

    Hello all, im Lizbeth Yepiz.
The reason why I choose this video is when it went viral I did not think to much of it and over the course, lets just say this past year I finally understand it. We chase our goals sometimes the wrong way. We want stuff but are sometimes not willing to put the work in, or loose things. I have come to understand that to grow and become better you have to let stuff go and leave behind things that are holding you back. “The day you want to breath as bad as you want to succeed, then you will be successful,” i’m sure we have all seen that or heard it on social media but watching this whole clip is really another experience. If you take the time to watch make sure you listen and not just ‘hear’.

I chose this video because the message behind this speech is very motivational and inspiring. It talks about self love and being true to yourself no matter what mistakes you’ve made in life or what others say about you. When Kim Namjoon said “I tried to jam myself into moulds that other people made. Soon, I began to shut out my own voice and started to listen to the voices of others.” This made me realize that I shouldn’t listen to what others say, but to listen to my own voice. We have a voice for a reason, so we should start listening to what we want in life. To love yourself and to speak for yourself.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yqdXoeBVuE

I chose this clip because I feel like there are many things in life that hold us back, and we must overcome these things in order to really enjoy and experience life to the fullest. Fear is one of the biggest things that holds us back, and we may not experience some of the greatest things in life if we don’t take a risk and go for it. Will Smith says “the hesitation is the thing that really messes up the chance at having your dreams.” He explains how in order to really enjoy our lives, it is important to push off of what we are comfortable with and be free. It is a really short clip, but it is one of the most motivational videos I have come across lately. What is said in this speech has really stuck with me, and I think it is very powerful.

Hey everyone, I’m Megan Williams. As I was browsing for motivational videos, there was no other video that stood out to me nearly as much as this one did because it is all about letting yourself out of your comfort zone. After watching it, I am so glad I did because I now find myself craving a new adventure for the sole purpose of challenging myself to get out of my comfort zone. I think this video is great for anyone to watch because I feel like we all can be a bit harsh on ourselves to stick to a daily routine and this encourages you to bend the boundaries and not be afraid to get a little dirty. It’s a video like this that can really help change your perspective on life and feel inspired to try new things and let yourself have more fun after witnessing how happy the people are in the video after having new experiences. I also think this video is great because it reminds me to not be so critical of myself and to welcome something unusual or extraordinary a little more often. It’s definitely worth the watch!

  • Derek Avila

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOmyO9bzEvw
Hi everyone, my name is Derek Avila. I chose this video because it gives a perfect example of being open to different strategies even in a stressful situation. I also chose this video because it shows that there are multiple ways to react a goal and that you have to be open for new ideas. This video also shows that you have to trust yourself and others in order to reach your main goal. Another reason I chose this video is because the decision at the time may not seem like the best decision, but you have to have faith in your decision that you made and that it will all work out in the end. This video is a good example of how you should have many different scenarios for each situation that may arise, so that you will know how to deal with the situation and over come it. Lastly, I chose this video because it showed me that many people always have an opinion about your decision and that if you do not have faith your decision then you will let those opinions overcome your decision.

  • Gabriela Hernandez

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SGFiJVEbhc
Hello everyone my name is Gabriela Hernandez, and I chose this video about being yourself because I think a lot of people should be more comfortable with the idea of being themselves. Watching this video, I liked how they talked about Bobby Cox, and how he was such a great manager to a baseball team. They mentioned how responsible he was and how a lot of people looked up to him. With a lot of power, a lot of people tend to take advantage of that, however, it seems as though this wasn’t the case with Bobby Cox. They also mentioned him being brave for being himself, and that’s because it does take courage to be yourself. I think being yourself is important because there is no other person like yourself, I also think that a lot of people tend to be followers because they want to be accepted. Overall, I really like the idea of staying true to yourself.

  • Daisy Perez

    https://youtu.be/CYfU9WBy_HA

Hello, my name is Daisy Perez, and I chose this clip because I feel it has a lot to do with having a positive attitude, having positive friends and habits, and looking at the good we can take from even the worst of situations. It talked about two men who could not find jobs and kept getting rejected and told no, and one guy talked on the phone with his negative unemployed friends and determined there were no jobs to look for. This is something I think people, especially teenagers struggle with. Sometimes, we forget to review our friendships and our support systems. Do our friends/support system get some sense of happiness or comfort that someone is in the same boat as them, or do our friends/support systems want to help us look on the brighter side and see us through our situation. Having a positive attitude and looking at the bright side of things is also important. In this clip the man who was looking for job could not find one, so instead he volunteered at a place, and he ended up getting hired. I know for me, I tend to complain about the workload from interning, but that negative attitude just makes it harder to get on with the rest of my day. So I have to take time aside and think to myself what are the benefits; work experience, references, connections, and opportunities. Basically, be positive, be around positive, and look on the bright side, you will be much happier!

  • Karen Nunez

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPWdqmWM7a0

I chose this clip because I found it encouraging when Will Smith said to protect your dreams because there is people out there that will not let you live your dreams. I think it also shows the importance of making sure that no one tells what you can’t do or how to live your dreams. Unfortunately in this life, if people can’t do something, will tell you can’t do that because they are envious. The clip shows to be determined to do what you want to do in life. That the only one who can accomplish your dreams is you.

I chose this clip because Mel Robbins explains how to get what you want. She has made the process of reaching a goal easier to achieve by introducing some steps. She mentions to be honest to yourself by expressing how you really feel instead of saying, “I’m doing fine”. In addition, it leads to convincing yourself that you are fine without having what you want. As a result, some steps that she introduces to motivating yourself are to force yourself by doing something different than your routine. Other steps introduced are to use the idea in your head to create your goal, to past your feelings, and lastly to get outside of your comfort zone.

  • Stephanie Leanos

    https://youtu.be/KtOD04f7Rfs

Hello everyone, my name is Stephanie Leanos. I chose this video because it shows how passionate and dedicated Derrick Rose is to his career. Despite the multiple knee injuries he has had to face, he never gave up on his ultimate dream and came back even stronger. This shows me to have dexterity when facing diversity and challenges in life. I take this to heart because everyday is different and everyday has new challenges to overcome. I watch this video to remind me to stay strong and keep my goals in sight through the struggles and to always have a positive outlook. I hope you find this video as motivational and touching as i did.

I chose, “SELF DISCIPLINE – Best Motivational Speech Video (Featuring Will Smith),” for my motivational video because of how well Will Smith speaks. In this video will smith talks mostly about self discipline. For me everything I’ve done from my childhood to now involved me being self-disciplined. if I didn’t have discipline things that I’ve planned and worked towards would fall out of alignment. It was great hearing and concreting similar tactics I use and formations of different disciplinary actions from Will Smith. Will Smith finds a way of bringing his words to life. In my opinion Will Smith is the best speaker. I found this video interesting because it breaks down how I live my life. Thank you guys for your time.

    Jovanni Lima

I chose, “Never Give Up”, due to the fact that in life, when it comes to things we love to do, we should never give up, and keep fighting for what we believe in. I’ve always had people in my life tell me that it cant be done, or that Im going to fail, but in reality, its all up to me to decide if whether getting up or staying down. Pain is definitely temporary, it can last for a minute, an hour, a day, or even a year, but eventually it will subside. In my opinion, never giving up is better than quitting hands down. Every single time I have an obstacle thrown at me, I always look to this video, and it helps me know my worth, and helps me understand that no matter what I do in life, quitting will never be an option.

  • Emily Mata

I chose to post a video about the some of the best motivational moments from Disney movies. I grew up watching Disney movies and I really believe in most of the messages they give children. For me the characters in the movies really encouraged me as a child and they still do as an adult. I learned to Be Kind to Others, Believe in Yourself, Have Confidence, Never Give Up, Girls Can Be Heroes Too, Take Risks, Make Friends, Work Hard, Be Accepting of Others and Never Stop Dreaming.
I know people may disagree but when I watch a disney movie and see how the characters try hard to make their dreams come true, whether it is falling in love, seeing floating lanterns, having legs, becoming a space voyager, saving your family and friends or opening a restaurant. They all followed their dreams and did what they wanted and loved to do and I want to live my life doing what I want and love to do.

I hope you enjoyed the video.

  • JSweeten

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXsQAXx_ao0

My name is James Sweeten. I chose the video “Just Do It” by Shia LaBeouf. This video is my choice because despite having become a meme– in doing so it has exposed many people to positive motivation. Shia, yelling at everyone to just do “it”, makes them think of that one thing that they have been putting off, and to do that thing. I think that it’s fairly motivational and while unorthodox does it’s job well.

I decided to choose the clip of named NO EXCUSES that I found on youtube because the video describes that in every day live we as humans create a excuse for everything. Excuses are not the way to go in life to complete something. If any human being wants to complete a task then it will be difficult to complete but the motivation needs to be present and it is possible to complete with no excuses. This video really explains my motivation towards my career in Law Enforcement and as a student. For example, accomplishing my career goal to become a Law Enforcement officer is not easy, it does not fall on my lap without me not putting in the work. Yes every battle and obstacle I will face will be a difficult one to climb the steep hill. All I need to do is create the motivation and the strength to continue working towards my goal. No Excuses should be made up in order to continue my will strength and power to continue going forward. Everytime I come face to face wtih a difficult obstacle in my life, this video makes me realize no excuses should be made and to continue fighting not give up even if the task is diffiucult. I would reccomend this video to others as well to view and keep relying on because it makes you realize the end result is well worth the challenge from start to finish.

  • Julia Kondratyuk

    https://youtu.be/uWi5iXnguTU

I chose to post this video because it speaks truth and positive affirmation to me. I have long struggled with self-conscious thoughts of not being enough. I have always struggled with my weight, but this year has been a difficult one for me and I have struggled with an eating disorder. I am slowly learning that the number on the scale, nor the image in the mirror is not definitive of who I am. I hope that one day, women all around the world will no longer compare themselves to one another, or that society will stop bombarding us with the images and expectations of who we should be. I hope that one day I can have the confidence to teach and exemplify to my own daughters that weight and our outward appearance does not define us. What makes us beautiful, is when we choose to admit and accept our imperfections, and we LOVE and see ourselves just like God does.

This video clip talks about how our body language can shape who we are. I choose this video clip because I found it encouraging and motivating when Amy Cuddy said fake it until you become it. Many of us are afraid to speak in front of a lot of people and I found this clip motivating when Amy said you are going to do it even if you are terrify, you are going to fake it until you become it. I’m always afraid and nervous when I speak in front of class and the best way for me to overcome this is to fake it. I think we can all fake it sometimes, and maybe we might become it.

  • Arlena Liryce Gavino

    https://youtu.be/SQKOs1u_-nk

This video talks about how a rough start to a day does not make a day bad, unless you let it. Every choice you make correlates to what will happen to you that day. Thinking about all the choices we have to make it gives us limitless opportunities. Opportunities that we often take for granted. For every day is a gift, because so many were robbed of today. Though us, we are still alive. Why? Because of the choices that are made from days, like today. Like many others, I usually take today for granted. It is good to be reminded of how good today is and all the opportunities it possesses.

  • Fabiola Perez Del Rio

https://youtu.be/t8ApMdi24LI My name is Fabiola Perez. I struggle with staying motivated every day of my life. So looking for motivational videos is something I am a bit of a pro at. This video talks about owning your problems and once you do that you own the solutions. When life knocks you down you don’t stay down. You get back up and fight.

  • sabrina yonan

    https://youtu.be/BxY_eJLBflk
I chose this video because to me it is super touching. Often I struggle with my faith and videos like this kind of open my eyes and remind me that working on myself and my faith are very important. This video also reminds viewers that working hard towards your goals is important. Its not always about the money of physical objects at the end of the day. Its more important to be there emotionally for people and to help others less fortunate than yourself.

  • Pang Lee

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgmVOuLgFB0
My name is Pang Lee. This is a motivating video for me because there has been numerous times that I had doubt myself because of fear. Trying to get into the nursing program is very competitive and most people that I know did not make it which makes me fear that the same will happen to me too. However, I learned to think positively about it now. It’s better to put in all my effort and know that I didn’t make it rather than not try at all. I personally think this is why people don’t accomplish their desires because they fear that it’s something that’s out of their limit just because others cannot do it. Instead of comparing ourselves to others, we should believe in ourselves and strive for the best outcome even if it means we may fail.

  • Nehha Kazmi

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2B9660rywY4

I chose this video because finding inspiration to do anything can be really hard. This video helps create an understanding on finding inspiration and getting that motivation. Megan Batoon is a very optimistic person, as she always talks about her struggles and how she overcomes them. I also really love how she discusses the topic of inspiration in a more relatable way for her audience to understand. Megan Batoon not only does youtube, but she also has her own personal business, has an advice podcast and she is also a dancer, I have had the feeling of losing inspiration, but after watching this video, it brought light to my eyes and actually got me focused on my goals and got me motivated to do things and actually get back on track. Megan Batoon is always someone I go to when it comes for advice and trying to find some inspiration or motivation.

  • Orlando Olivera

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slNemp4L85Y

My name is Orlando Olivera. I chose this Michael Jordan ‘Maybe It’s My Fault’ commercial for a couple reasons. He’s my favorite player in any sport all time, I watched since I was little up until the day, he retired a second time. Second, the message is important, despite being the greatest player in basketball history (don’t care what Lebron fans say) he wants people to know he worked extremely hard to get there. Many people may not know this about MJ, but he was cut from his basketball team in High school. From there, he went on to win a championship with the Tar Heels in college and went a perfect 6 for 6 in NBA championships for the Bulls. At the end of the video he tells the kids that maybe they are just making excuses. He is trying to get the message across to try, and work hard and maybe you can achieve anything.

  • alina

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wPKGSBftYo

My name is Alina Bogataya. I chose this video because it has inspiring words. We do truly have to be ourselves and decide who we want to be in our own special ways. The way people see you, does not define who you are. Its time for us to wake up and do what is best for us. It is time to make a change and be the best version of ourselves. If we can find the way to push through pain, it is called effort. There is always something to look forward to. There is always a better outcome. Always a brighter side to things. It can all be achieved through effort and if we personally what the change for ourselves, it can be done.

  • Haley Bloom

My name is Haley Bloom and this video was something motivational to me. Growing up, I wanted to be a ballerina. Ballet is something incredibly technical in both the movement and the way a person looks. I know at a first glance this video does not come off as motivational since you are hearing a rejection letter. What makes it special to me is that the dancer featured went on to become a well known ballerina, despite her “flaws.” Instead they are qualities that make her unique in her profession. What is important to learn from this video is you can become whatever you want if you try hard enough and push through the negative comments. Like the video says at the end, “I will what I want.” If you want something bad enough, you will work that much harder to make it happen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y54DotDBLeY

  • Delsy Sedlmeyer

I chose this video because motivation can come from completing the simplest tasks in our everyday routine. I liked how the speaker puts changing the world into realistic perspective that can be accomplished by starting off by simply making your bed. Completing the first task of the day gives you a small sense of pride that has a ripple effect and motivates you complete another task. It reinforces that the little things matter and if you can do the little things in life you can accomplish the big things in life. I was first introduced to this video during my freshman year in high school, ever since I have always started my day off by making my bed. I have noticed that the days where I do not make my bed I am not as productive as other days. There is power in the little things and it is important to see the value of any accomplishment no matter how big or small it may seem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6OoCaGsz94

  • Liz Ong

    Elizabeth Ong;
I chose this video because as college students we can sometimes get discouraged and feel like giving up. I myself have been finding myself very discouraged with school and at times I just want to give up. Theres many reasons to give up but theres also many reasons to not give up. One reason that the video pointed out was that we all have some kind of dreams and there should be no reason as to why we dont reach that goal if we genuinly want it. I know that i want to succeed so I shouldnt be discouraged by a few wrong assignments. The end of the video says “live as if you were to die tomorrow” i think that is something to remember, take chances and go with it, we never know what tomorrow holds so don’t hold back.

    Hello,
I reason I chose this video is because Simon Sinek is a personal favorite on mine to go to on the subject of “Finding Your Why” in life. I have bought into his notion of we control only the way we can react to the lemons throw in our path in lives. This particular video clip explains the main problem behind why some of us feel the way we do. He goes to explain why we feel and why we feel that way about what we are doing in our work and play. His insight on the problems of technology and personal relationships and work relationships. If you continous and explore his videos and read his books will give you a beautiful out look into how to excel in our pursuit of happiness in this world.

    Hello,
The reason I chose this video Wass because Clint Bruce spoke to me throughout this entire 49 minute video. I first watched this when I was down in San Diego for an explorer academy. He includes five things that make an individual “elite” and finishes with one of his favorite quotes, “hold fast, and stay true.” Hold fast meaning when something gets rough, hold on to something stable, and stay true to the course you are on even when things get tough.

    Estela Sierra “PUSH YOURSELF”

I picked this video because, as a college student I find myself very unmotivated at times. I have found that I will let those around me bring me down because I am easily discouraged. This video has helped me understand that even when times get tough I must still push forward and do my best. The tone of the narrator is very motivating to myself because he speaks of the fact that there will never be an easy route. I truly believe we get what we put into the universe therefore if I try hard and push myself I will be successful. Videos such as this one have allowed me to become much more motivated when I am feeling unmotivated.

  • Jhoan Fernandez Zamora

Hi, my name is Jhoan Fernandez Zamora and I chose this motivational video because of what the coach said to the players. This team is called Club Deportivo Guadalajara and it is a big club based in the state of Jalisco in Mexico. This is my favorite sports team and what makes them unique is that they only play with people who are Mexican. The name of the coach is Matias Almeyda and he was hired to coach this team when the team was doing very poorly in terms of results. Although they are the biggest club in Mexico, they are one of the teams that receive the most criticism out of the whole league. Matias Almeyda got the club out of the last places and started fighting at the top of the league to enter the playoffs. He won a championship with the club and they still received criticism because it was seen as a championship anybody can win. In the next seasons, he managed to get the team qualified for the playoffs and they went to the final and this speech was given before the final against one of the best teams with the best players in the league. The odds were against Club Deportivo Guadalajara and nobody thought they would win. What Almeyda was telling the players is that he believes in Mexicans even though he is obligated to play them. He is saying that they represent more than just themselves, they represent 40 million people who support them and the club. He also tells them that the day they believe in themselves is the day they conquer the world and show the world what they are made of. There is this saying that people say and it goes “The worst enemy of a Mexican is another Mexican” and this is what Almeyda is referring to. I am Mexican and it is true, I always hear people of my family or friends saying that I am unable to do some things I aspire to do just because of my situation. This helped me believe more in myself and what I can achieve. The club was able to get to the top of the league and they won the championship.

This is a video that everyone needs to watch because of how inspiring it is. I chose this video because the amount of motivation I have gained from this is just amazing. Every single individual in this world is value. You all like me have a purpose in this world. Don’t let anyone take your value. NEVER GIVE UP. Life is an opportunity to improve and grow. The amount of value that we individuals posses is out of this world. We all are alive and breathing in this life for a reason.

  • Alondra Ayala Moreno

Hi, my name is Alondra Ayala. Garyvee is someone I enjoy listening to. I chose this video because since I am graduating this semester, I feel the pressure and I feel like I can relate. Garyvee mentions that this month scares him because it is the month that many students are graduating and have no idea what they want to do with their lives. He mentions that this is the best position to be in because we have the opportunity to go out into the world and find that passion; the thing is, we have to take the risk. Gary says this is the time we can travel and learn, move out with roommates and figure out what our passions are. HAPPINESS is what creates inspiration and passion. He mentions that is we fail, we can lift ourselves back up at this age. If we were 40 years old with a family, it would be much more difficult.

  • Brittany Gilliland

    Brittany Gilliland 2019-SP-KINS1000-003,

I chose this motivational video because it is something that I can relate to personally. I spent a lot of my time as a teen/young adult studying, participating in my hobby, and practicing my sport. A lot of my friends, especially in college, always loved to go out and drink. I am not much of a drinker anyways, but I always would rather have stayed home and studied or practiced drills to get better at my sport. A lot of people told me that I would regret not letting lose and having “fun”, but my version of fun was not going out and getting plastered. I wanted to set myself up for the future, which I did. Just because you are young, does not mean you need to be irresponsible. There are plenty of ways to have fun without getting drunk and wasting your time and health.

  • Blao Vue

I chose this video because recently, I have been inspired and aware of the large population of people, including children, with mental illness. Our society has a lot to improve in regards to mental illness awareness, resources, and treatments. I, personally, believe that it is important to address mental illness at the child level because many develop it young without knowing so and without the proper coping mechanisms or treatment which leads to heightened symptoms in the adulthood. My name is Nancy Macedo. I decided to choose this motivational video because I think self-love is very important. In the video, Will Smith states, “self-discipline is the definition of self-love”. I think this is very true. The video also mentions that in order for you to be happy, you have to be able to love yourself. The video also talks about how important both self-love and. self-discipline are important and I definitely agree. I really enjoy this video and think it brings up so many good points and many people could benefit from watching this.

  • Nikki Meyer

My name is Nicole Meyer. I chose the video titled Mental Toughness. I liked this video because the speaker was talking about how your mind is more powerful than you believe. He used the example of getting up to run every morning. It can be hard to want to get up and work out, but if you continue to do it, despite the weather outside or how tired you are, you are proving your mental toughness. You can do anything you put your mind to, literally.

I chose this video because it involves sacrifice. The beginning of the video begins by giving an example about successful people that did not work to get it to the position in and out of rehabs and another person who worked their way to get to the top. The only difference is the hunger and motivation they had. Our success is what determines what we did in out 24 hours. Fear is false evidence appearing real that can be changed. Fear is one of the obstacles that we face during our everyday lives. To conquer fear we must have faith and patience.

    Marilyn Vega 2019-SP-KINS1000-003,

The video I chose is actual an english subtitled lyric video from one of my favorite Korean artists called First Love. When I first heard this song it made me feel emotional even though I had no idea what he was saying which prompted me to look up the english translation. The song is about him and his piano. Learning to play the piano had inspired him to write music and motivated him to always work hard. In the song he explains that he loses appreciation for the piano and almost feels a sense of resentment because he got into an accident damaging his shoulder and therefore making it harder to play. Through personification, the piano tells him to never give up and if he strays that he will do well on his own to not give up on himself. As he ages he regains appreciation and realizes that he is never alone. I chose this video because music in general has always been able to bounce me back from wanting to just give up and that pushing through will all be worth it (especially with school).

Why I decided to choose this video is because the message behind the video. Although the video involves Kayne and Kobe, I really liked the message behind being a “different animal, but the same beast.” What the message means is that there is always room for improvement, even if you’re good at what you do. This is motivational me because it makes me realize that that I can be better at what I can do. There is no limit to what I can improve on, as this will make me even better. Even though one can be considered the best at one thing, they can outdo themselves. Always aim to be the best.
