Howdy. My name is Andrew Maroulis, and the leader I picked is Dan Campbell. Dan is the head coach of the NFL team, the Detroit Lions, and is regarded as one of the most intense, passionate, and driven individuals in the league. Dan didn't just walk into that position; he started with Texas A&M in 1995 till 1998 and was eventually drafted by the New York Giants in the third round. He bounced around the league on a total of 4 rosters over 10 seasons, and when you're in the league that long, you gain a lot of valuable lessons and experiences. He retired in 2009 due to injuries and went on to coach for different teams and eventually became the Detroit Lions' head coach in 2021. The Lions were regarded as one of the worst teams in the league, and Dan rebuilt them from the ground up. In his interview speech, he explained the vision that even if the result wasn't winning, his goal was that his team would fight the hardest in every game. He asked his players to give him their all every day, and the hope was that they would find ways to win. Well, it took them some time, but no,w with Dan's persistent coaching and driven nature, they are the Lions a highly respected team in the league.

Howdy! My name is Zac Tenery and the leader I chose is Bruce Bochy. Bochy has had a very successful career from both the player and manager sides. He competed in Major League Baseball as a reserve catcher for nine years and has now been a manager for twenty five out of the last twenty eight years. He has been a tremendous leader throughout his baseball career, but his qualities have truly been shown during his time as a manager. His leadership is evidently clear as he has led two different teams to World Series championships. The video I chose features an interview with former San Francisco Giants pitcher George Kontos, who won two World Series championships under Bochy’s leadership. When asked what it was like to play for Bochy, Kontos explains how amazing of a man he was along with how everyone just loved being around him. He describes him being such a great leader of men who always “knew what he needed to say or do to every individual person to get the most out of him day in and day out.” He ends his speech about Bochy by saying how much he tries to implement Bochy’s calm demeanor into his daily life. This is just a sliver of the massive impact Bochy’s leadership has had on so many different players and coaches. Hi! My name is Averi Poe. The leader I chose for this assignment was Nick Saban, who is the former head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide. I chose this clip because it portrays who Saban was as a coach. He was tough and wanted the best for each person who came into the program. He had a primary focus on "the motto" during his tenure, emphasizing the little details and efforts rather than just winning and losing. Another one of Sabans famous quotes was "nobody owes you anything," which he instilled in all of his athletes and people on his staff to ensure that consistent good efforts would help with their success as individuals. Outside of football, Coach Saban has been a great leader for everyone through talks of life lessons and press conferences that preach the importance of leadership he prides himself on being a great leader. It is clear to see today that Saban's leadership is what drove Alabama to many years of success, and what he accomplished will be admired for a lifetime. My name is Nick Rogers and the leader I chose is Sir Alex Ferguson. Sir Alex was the manager for Manchester United for many years and helped change them into the club we know today. He was known for being a stern leader who looked for excellence. In this clip he is interviewing with Harvard about leadership qualities. Some of the key takeaways from this clip is how he thinks these qualities are transferable to more than just sports. He also made a key point in leaders should make recognition of players or coaches contribution. Let them know they are doing good when they are, inspire them to want recognition. Finally a point he made was to accept change, "what worked 5-6 years ago won't work forever". Tom Brady My name is Jack Goodman, and the leader I chose was Tom Brady. He was a leader in every sense of the word, not only leading the Patriots to 6 Super Bowl wins but also leading his teams to seven Super Bowl wins as well. His offenses often weren't the most star-studded, so his leadership was extremely important with that. Brady was also under-recruited and drafted late into the NFL, so he had to work to earn his respect. He inspired his teammates through that, exemplifying what a leader must do.

Howdy, My Name is Kaiden Wilson. I chose a clip from Terry Mclaurin this past weekend after beating the Detroit Lions. Terry Mclaurin demonstrates as a very effective leader because he shows how much he cares for his team and wants to lead by example for himself and his teammates. he has been one of the most underrated wide receivers in the league for years now because of the Washington Commanders reputation of not being a good team. Terry has been working very hard to be the best and motivating his teammates to be the best. Now, they are in the playoffs playing to win the Super Bowl. Terry's speech has showed how much he cares for his team and just to be yourself. Don't be someone you are not. Being able to trust who you are and being the best version of yourself. Terry says that he has the best job in the world and says we should be grateful to be in the position they are today. Terry also brings up if they did not have the money or fame in this job, all you have is your reputation and your name so play for yourself and the name that is on the back of your jersey. Terry's speech has motivated his team into beating the Detroit Lions 45-31 in the divisional round. After this video, this made me want to run through a brick wall. My name is Alex Albert and the leader I chose was Kobe Bryant. Kobe, while not my all time favorite basketball player ever, is one of my favorite leaders in sports history. I think his ability to lead and motivate anybody is incredible. In this clip, he first discussed a great quote that he always lived by, which was “Rest at the end, not in the middle.” Even if you don’t know the answer to every question you have, you just keep pushing through and figure it out on the way. I think this is such an important quote to understand because it’s an uncommon mindset of most of society. Society will tell you that you are able to rest at any time and that’s okay, but Kobe says that he lived by being motivated the entire time he was working towards a goal, and only after he achieved that goal did he rest. Another quote he has said he lived by was “the moment you give up, is the moment you let someone else win” which is similar to the first quote. If you are working towards a goal, specifically one that others may also be trying to achieve, if you stop at all on your progress towards that goal, someone else will get it before you.
