Women are very overlooked in the sports world and watching this video was inspiring. It explains the stereotypes on women in sports. How its looked at to be out of the ordinary for women to do these amazing things.

Every Kid Needs a Champion I chose this clip because it has given me a new perspective on teaching. I'm grateful and lucky to have watched this video. The video is about a retired teacher informing others that every kid needs a champion. Her colleague told her that they don't pay her to like the kids, and replied with " Kids don't learn from people they don't like." You need to build a relationship with the kids to get them to respect and like learning from you. The message of the video is to connect with your students on a personal level.

The kid in the video gives a pep talk about being kind, working together, and not giving up. I like how he reminds people that everyone is on the same team and should support each other. The message about making the world "awesome" made me feel happy and inspired. It also shows that even kids can encourage others and be good role models. It motivates me to be more positive in my daily life.

In early childhood, children are still developing their confidence and sense of self, so the way a teacher responds to them truly matters. When educators focus on encouragement instead of just mistakes, it helps children feel capable and supported. Mr. Jensen didn’t give up on his student, which made a lasting impact. Thinking of how I want to be as a teacher I think of being patient, supportive and intentional about building positive relationships with students. Making sure every child feels seen, valued, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

In school you are graded based on test scores and overall IQ and academic abilities. In the real world however, as this Doctor finds, the truest measure of success was having grit. When it comes to long term goals, having grit, passion and perseverance were the most important factors contributing to success in any area. It is motivating for me to know that if I have determination, stable work ethic, and want something badly enough, chances are I can have it.
