https://www.ted.com/talks/rita_pierson_every_kid_needs_a_champion/up-next?language=en

I chose this TED talk by Rita Pierson because it is a clip that I was shown my first semester of college and has motivated me ever since. The underlying message of the video is that every kid needs a champion, which is reassured throughout her message as she draws importance to human connection, seeking to understand rather than being understood, and apologizing. My favorite part of the video is when she tells the audience about the message that she instils in her students. She says "I am somebody. I was somebody when I came, I'll be a better somebody when I leave. I am powerful and I am strong. I deserve the education that I get here. I have things to do, people to impress, and places to go". She explains that this matters because if you say something enough, it starts to be a part of you. Later in the presentation, she tells the audience the ways in which this makes a good teacher by explaining that teachers are great actors and actresses because we get up each day and go to work even when we don't feel like it and we follow policy that we don't understand, and we just teach anyway because that's what we do. In my opinion, it takes a special person to be a teacher and you need to be able to stand by that statement that she made in order to be a good at what you're doing; in order to be a champion. At the end of the video, Ms. Pierson explains that "every child deserves a champion, an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be". This is what I want to be. This is why I am motivated by this video.

Hello my name is Kyla Yang, the reason why I chose this video is because in life we go through many hardship and sometimes we lose a part of ourselves. We give up on ourselves believing that we are broken. This video proves that we still have value. It makes me fell to never forget that I still have value in me no matter what I go through. I hope that this video also encourages others to never forget their values.

https://www.ted.com/talks/richard_st_john_8_secrets_of_success

I chose this video because its short, motivational but to the point and I feel that everyone should hear/watch this video about success. One of the things he talks about that leads to success is passion. I feel that having passion is very important when it comes to your job or career. If you pursue something that you don't have a passion for or are not genuinely interested in, then theres very little likely of you succeeding in because everything is going to be done without passion or without dedication. The 8 keys to success according to this video are serve, passion, work, focus, persist, ideas, good, push.

Hello my name is Julieta Zavala Cortes. I chose this video, “Full power of women speech” because I find that it is very empowering for women all around the world. It is also motivating women and everyone in general to leave a dent in this world and strive to become someone unforgettable, despite their gender or societal standards. This video's main focus is to remind women that they have the right to an equal opportunity of education just like men. We live in a world where, believe it or not, women are still struggling to obtain basic human rights that are constantly given solely to men. This video motivates many to keep fighting for change and to keep challenging these harmful ideologies that women are not privileged enough to have an education. As the video states, “An educated man can change the family but an educated woman can change the generation.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNYKDM4_ZC4&feature=youtu.be

Hello, my name is Erika Garcia. I chose the video, "Get up and make it happen", because I feel like the message behind it is timeless. What I mean by that is at any point in my life whether I am a struggling college student, first time parent, on a fitness journey, trying to find myself, etc. this is a video to get my through those tough times when I want to give up. Nothing worth having in life comes easy, and this video emphasizes that. It emphasizes the importance of how on the toughest of days, you have to keep going because those are the days that count the most. Mentally and emotionally I think those are the days that make it or break it, because when you are feeling on cloud 9/on top of the world it is easy to continue, but those days where you are ready to give it up are the days you have to give it your all. The power to be the best and move yourself is within you. The only person that controls that inner motivation is you and that is why it is so important to move forward every single day, big or small. Some progress is better than no progress. I do feel like this video does give you some tough love, but I believe it is to fuel a drive within you.

Hello Everybody, my name is Christine Martinez. The reason I picked this video was because to me giving up is my number one weakness I'm dealing with right now. The video motivates me to not give up even though I can't take it anymore. I been having a difficult time with my online classes; there are times where I want to give up. However, by watching this video, I won't give up, I'm going to push through these hard barriers to succeed in my accomplishment. I just have to believe in myself, and I know I can do it.

Hello, my name is David Jose Arredondo. I picked this video of Kobe Bryant because he was overall one of the greatest athletes of all time. His desire to become better and be the best is what every person and athlete dreams to be. He would always put in the work to be the best he could possible be. He would tell others that you ned to put in the work, if you want to be the best you can be, both on the field and off it. It was amazing to see him be so motivated in both sports and the outside world to strive for greatness.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmWKXYP2tSI

Hi, my name is Vanessa Torres. For this assignment, I chose to share this motivational spoken word poem titled "Rise Above". This video I feel can apply to a lot of different situations and stages in life since it discusses the idea of overcoming obstacles to come out stronger in the end. For me this video is particularly relevant since it talks about not quitting when you've already come so far and sacrificed so much. With my undergraduate career coming to a close this semester and all of the uncertainty in the world right now, it is tempting to want to give up at times or to not put forth all of my efforts but it's important now more than ever to persevere. It also touches on not letting fear and sacrifice discourage you from reaching your full potential which I believe is a great mindset to have upon graduation as I make my way into my dream career field.
