About Us

Mark Lasota


The Founder of Elite Sport Leadership Central is Mark Lasota. Lasota is an innovative leadership coach whose vision is to develop effective sport leaders as well as build a global leadership community. Since early childhood, sports have been a constant in Lasota’s life. He has competed at the elite level of sport and understands the importance of coaching and mentorship. Lasota is passionate about helping others reach their goals, both personally and professionally. This website serves as a useful resource to others focused on becoming better leaders. Lasota is Slovak-American and originally from Chicago.


In 2002, Lasota received his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and Physical Education from Ball State University. At Ball State, he was a Division I football player and received Letterman honors. In 2008, Lasota completed a 3-month study abroad intensive Spanish language program and received three certificates of completion from the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina. In 2010, he received his Master’s Degree in Kinesiology with an option in Sport Psychology from California State University, Fresno. Lasota graduated from Fresno State with honors and received multiple academic scholarships/awards helping fund his research efforts. As a part of the Sport Psychology option at Fresno State, he was a committee member for the Coaching Science Group and UNIFORM Mental Skills Training program. This website was originally his Master’s Thesis/Project. Fresno State Kinesiology Department Graduate Faculty Members Dr. Wade Gilbert, Dr. John McMillen, and Dr. Scott Sailor all made significant contributions by providing insight during the creation and continued development of this endeavor.


Lasota has been a healthcare professional, educator, and sport coach for over 10 years. He started his coaching career as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at San Diego State University. Lasota has coached high school varsity football and basketball in the states of California and Indiana. He has served as an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Grossmont Junior College in the San Diego area. Lasota has devised strength and conditioning programs for high school, collegiate, and professional athletes. In February of 2009, Lasota spoke at the Fresno State Sport Psychology Symposium presenting research on effective Division I college football coaching.

While living in San Diego, Lasota spent several years in the corporate fitness industry in both management and personal training. He established his own personal training and fitness consulting business. Lasota organized and conducted seminars on The Biomechanics of Power Lifting at two major fitness establishments. He was a presenter at the 2011 Aspiring Health Leaders Medical Conference at UCSF in Fresno. Lasota has been a fitness educator around the world, having traveled to over 20 countries. His profoundly valuable experiences have given him a unique perspective and understanding of people as well as the need to impact leaders worldwide.

Lasota has been a faculty member at multiple universities. At Fresno State, he was an Instructor/TA in the Kinesiology Department. He currently holds part-time faculty positions at the University of Phoenix, Heald College, and Fresno Pacific University. Lasota teaches courses in the areas of medicine, health science, nutrition, sport education, leadership, and business. At Fresno Pacific, he teaches an online sport leadership course. Additionally, Lasota is a certified personal trainer. He has trained both in corporate fitness and as an independent contractor.
